Support Team
What are you looking for?
If you are looking for a rewarding and challenging Support team position in a vibrant, dynamic and innovative service with a super skilled and supportive team…..read on!! We are a well established, highly regarded paediatric Occupational Therapy practice on the Gold Coast, Queensland with therapy hubs at the northern and southern ends of the Gold Coast and in Murwillumbah, NSW. We are on the hunt for our next awesome Support Team member!
What's so different about Kids+Community?
We do all the things you expect from an occupational therapy service working with children, teens and families….but deliver it differently!
We truly work with children, teens, families and communities. We believe that every family knows exactly what their child/teen needs and has the potential and ability to expertly manage their kid's/teen's needs! It is our job to work together to help uncover and develop this potential and help families help kids and teens to be the most amazing version of themselves.
We have abandoned traditional models, medical language and all the usual bells and whistles to get straight to the point of enabling kids to do the things they want, need or are expected to do and get involved in things that bring them joy! Simple!
We provide a service that connects and taps into the fun factor to create independence and support participation of kids and families in their community. We don't take a service model and make kids, teens and families fit - we figure out what is needed, what makes sense, build the best support and service delivery response to do this and get on with making it work!
All members of our team (not just the clinical team) create and enable this for our kids, teens and families. As a Support Team member, you would be that very important first contact for families, so understanding this philosophy and way of working is important.
What would it be like being a Support Team member at Kids+Community?
We believe that the ability to provide an innovative, responsive service to kids and families that achieves great outcomes starts with having the best team. As a values driven organisation, the values that we structure our service and supports to kids and families also provide the solid foundations for selecting, supporting and developing our people – our perfect team!!
Connections - As a relationship based service we are heavily invested in the connections. We invest time and energy into strengthening connections within our in-house team as well as with our broader multidisciplinary team and the communities we serve. As a Support Team member you will be great at making connections at all levels and have the communication and interpersonal skills to make this happen.
Play - We make sure that our workplace is jam packed with playful experiences – not just for the kids, teens and families but for us as well! Apart from having a workplace culture that is fun and playful we also have lots of social events outside of work to get to know each other and spend quality time just having fun – for fun’s sake! As a Support Team member you would have a friendly disposition and be fun and playful in your interactions with our kids and families (as well as the rest of the team!).
Participation - We value the contribution every team member has to make to our service. It’s an all in thing! At every level and in every position, we get you “hands on” with the business side of things where you actively shape our service. You would be expected to contribute ideas to procedures and process to build greater efficiency in our support to the clinical team.
Independence - Every individual team member is supported to put their unique mark on their role and develop their own unique work style. In the context of our service values, practice framework and service delivery commitments - we want you to be you - and to support you to be awesome at it!! We want you to be able to work well as part of a team but be able to work autonomously and mange and prioritise day to day tasks with lots of competing interests to get things done in a timely and efficient way.
Inclusion - We demonstrate inclusion to our team members by creating a workplace where people feel respected, supported, and genuinely valued for who they are. We recognise that every team member brings unique strengths, perspectives, experiences, and ways of working, and we aim to foster an environment where everyone feels safe to contribute and belong.
And just to be clear….
Our commitment to all our employees is long term, and we have a longstanding experienced team just ready and waiting to welcome our next awesome Support Team member!
